PatKingBJJ is proud to announce that we will be hosting a Royce Gracie seminar for Kids and Adults at SouthWest BJJ, Karate and Aikido center in Lomita, Ca. on August 19, 2009...
If you train BJJ or just want to attend this seminar and learn from an absolute legend because of whom the UFC exists today, MMA is so popular and BJJ has gone global. All thanks to the one and only Royce Gracie...
Lomita is right next to Torrance, Ca., off of PCH just south west of the 110 and 405 freeways...

Fees: $50 for kids and $70 for adults BEFORE August 1st.
Please note that we only have 50 spots available for kids and 50 for adults. Kids seminar will be held before the adults.

On Monday night Royce called me up and said that he was going to Fresno to cover for Tosh Cook who by the was is in Georgia finishing up training for the National Guard. I did not know that it was a seminar until we got there because it was all last minute otherwise we would have said something to everybody.
We will make an announcement ahead of time for the next Royce seminar. So far, the next one is in Miami, Fl. approximately in October. For those who want to go to Miami to a 3 day Royce Gracie world wide seminar let us know now and start planning to go for about 4 days.

This one is an absolute MUST SEE. Armand showed us 2 websites that have from what we understand to be two of the most current "BJJ Black Belt Lineage History Charts".
If you were wondering who gave whom their BJJ Black Belt, its mostly there... Taking into consideration the explosive popularity of BJJ throughout the world, this chart is not 100% complete. But we are sure they will make an update soon. Either way, its an honor to be a part of a page in the history of this amazing art...
The first "BJJ Black Belt Lineage History" chart can be viewed at:
This chart is much more current and detailed than the first but you can use both of them for reference because each chart has info the other one does not.
If you love BJJ, you have to check out these sites. But WARNING!!!... You may find yourself losing track of time looking at these 2 sites because there is so much info and because its truly fascinating...

The 2009 Pan Am Games were held in Carson, Ca. this weekend.
One of our Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt brothers, Evaldo Lima of Neutral Grounds Jiu Jitsu in Long Beach, Ca. came out and took Silver in his weight class as well as Bronze in his Black Belt Open division.
Evaldo caught his second opponent in a beautiful leg submission that he appeared to have set up way in advance of the actual submission. Gracie Jiu Jitsu all the way.
Also, there was a "Minute of Silence" in memory of Grand Master Helio Gracie. The arena was packed and every body stood in silence for one minute.
Then Rickson came out and made a quick speech which was very nice. You could feel Helio's energy in the air.

On March 27 and 28, 2009 our two warriors, Santiago and Kevin, went to battle to represent the knowledge that has to date been passed onto them.
Kevin went to fight at the Pan American Games and Santiago went to battle in the National Martial Arts Expo in Anaheim, Ca.
Regardless of win or loss, to enter the battle is a victory in itself.
The results are:
Santiago (GOLD MEDAL - 1st Place)
Kevin (Did Not Medal)
Congratulations to both guys for stepping up and putting themselves out there...
